February 9, 2015

well i`ll be. my mother is going to be the next person to send someone to prison. I`ve never been more proud! my mommy is growing up. good luck mom you will be great. just remember the constitution of the united states and the bill of rights was ordained of God. You can`t go wrong! I will be praying for you. let me know how it goes.

I cant believe you are wearing short sleeves and such. It has snowed almost everyday this week. there is so much! we are going to la balle de neige today. i think justin went to it. it is a gathering of sorts, with ice sculptures, queue de castors, and loads of other things. i am fairly excited for our trek to Ottawa today.

Thanks so much in advance for the valentines day package. that will be just swell. i am in need of a reeses peanut butter cup, and i have a feeling that these were included. thanks so much you are all too kind. i think that it would be good to get some asthma medicine on second thought. i have been having  a bit of trouble this past week. Also i think my back is getting a little bit worse. It isnt too bad. I will be fine, but i think maybe when i come home it may be wise to have it looked at again.

Kamwonn. this is how we spell our name in Haitian Creole. we work with so many haitians and so we have been trying to learn a little bit. It is super cool. We are learning so much. It is actually really easy i can read it already. If you read it out loud it is like french mad gab. I love it haha. I am thinking a lot about french. I think i may want to study it when i come home. Yesterday i translated the meetings for a Chinese woman, whom everyone thought was a man. I felt so bad. everone kept asking where he was from, and the lady she was with said, not he! she she she! the lady is japanese. not really sure how they ended up together. But i sat next to her and translated sacrament meeting and the 2nd hour. it reminded me of when i was in ste foy and i had to do that almost every week. it was tiring!
anyways back to kamwonn. rosie our less active lady we work with made us a haitian meal this last week. it was so delicious. boy let me tell you it was divine. We had a great lesson on the restoration of the Gospel.

I am a knitting machine let me tell ya. I am in the process of knitting my very own pantoufle. they are just the most comfortable things in the world let me tell ya. a lady in our ward made me a pair and i wear them everyday.

our investigator apolinaire had us over. unfortunately (or fortunately :)) he was watching the final for la coupe d'afrique. cote d'ivoire was playing ghana. it went to penatlys and so he kept saying after the game we pray ok?? we got there at about 85 minutes, so they went to extra time and pks. the good news is that he is very happy because his country won! the bad news is we had to leave so we couldnt teach him. but we do have  a return appointment and the cup is over so we should not have any more distractions. haha. i hope.

Overall i would say it was a good week. Life is good. La vie est belle. We are surrounded by tender mercies of the Lord. They come every day. If we have trust in the Lord everything will work out. It is a great time to be alive. This work is the best kind i can be doing right now. I love you all. Christ lives. He loves us!
Godspeed

February 2, 2015

bonjour a tous et a toutes!
hey y'all, this is what my companion says, he is from the south. he says y'all. this means you all. how are you doing on this fine cold februrary morning slash afternoon.

tiff is right. it is dark all the time, also the stores on saturday close at 5. so that is lame. where is she at? if she is close to ottawa i could totally see her. you should tell her to come to gatineau and take the elders out to lunch hahaha

this week was fun! i will grant your request mother by telling you what we did on saturday.

6.30 wake up, pray, pretend to exercise while my comp is looking haha.

7.00 shower, prepare myself for the day, look in the mirror and say, hey logan its going to be a great day, good lookin

8.00 study personally: this week i studied in the book of mormon. I am reading in alma. you know alma was such an alstar missionary. He cared so much for his people. Such a great man.

9.00 comp study, start with an uplifting bluegrass riff on the merlin. following which we pray and prep for our lessons for the day

10.00 l'etude de langue sometimes we listen to coffee break french. a great language tool. Other times we read in the french book of mormon

11.00 eat

12.00 we leave the apartment! yah! we visited the nzewandro family. they are from the congo! great family! they have 3 little girls. the youngest said, "je peux pas telecharger je suis trop petite!" i cant down load things i am too small! haha
we had such a great lesson with them. the spirit is always so strong in there home.

1.00 pass by some former investigators. none were successful

3.30 eating with our investigators. apolinaire and grace. Ok this meal was very african. We even ate with our hands. it was scary. i ate half of a fish. When i say fish i really mean fish. it was crazy. bones skin. eyes. and cous cous and tomatos and other stuff. it was kind of hard but i ate it all.

that one took a while haha
later we visited steve in the hospital. he was in the hospital for his heart so we visited him. he is such a good man. really funny guy. i asked him how the food was and he said, honestly, its excellent i love it. He just loves being there. haha i dont really know why but he does. haha he is 69 and his heart is not serving him very well. another lesson for us to live the word of wisdom! he lives it now but before he smoked for such a long time. and he didnt eat very well. now he is paying for it. it is sad but that is what happens

then we had correlation meeting and that was the day!

most days are similar in some way but everyday is different with all sorts of adventures.

well thats all for me
i love you all very much

January 26, 2015

That's right folks. holy water freezes just like regular water. haha we had an investigator give us holy water. we left it in our car and sure enough just like normal water it froze. I think the lesson is clear for all of us. Holy water is just water. I guess it wasn't that holy. They probably should have boiled the hell out of it..... hahahahahahaha ok that was pretty funny right?
oh man life is good.

the cold north is very cold. but it hasn't been too bad as of late. it hovers around -15. I don't know what that is in Fahrenheit. so my nose hairs are fine. they actually have froze before. but not this week. funny that you mention that mother. I am well thank you, my asthma is doing just fine. I am not in need yet but I think it may be wise to get one ready to send because it may take a while to get to Gatineau. No rush. en francais on dit, t'en fait pas! don't worry relax if I knew how to spell acunamatata I would write that.

well this week was just swell. I already told you about the holy water. that came from an investigator. her name is echo. we passed her off to the sisters because she is a single lady and it is hard for us to visit her. Build the kingdom as I like to say. I met a great African family this week. Oh man I just love Africans and hatians. we work a lot with them. they are so nice, humble, and funny. This family has 3 girls that speak English French and Spanish. can you believe that?? Their English is much better than my French too. they are recent converts of about a year or so. They are struggling coming to church so we were able to talk about missionary work and service. that kind of rekindled the flame. so hopefully they will be coming back more regularly to church.

each week we do service at a homeless shelter. we make beds, and sweep floors and such. It is quite amusing. we go with our friend steve. he is an internegator but we love him all the same. he is a great guy, just doesn't really know exactly what he wants right now that's all. I don't know if he will get baptized while I am a missionary but he will be baptized one day. of that I am sure.

hey do you remember the willy waller 2006? well I saw it again this week. Our ward mission leader loves this film so he showed it to us at our correlation meeting. haha the other missionaries in the ward are really young. I am the oldest by a good year and some change. So they didn't really understand the video but elder hattaway and myself and our ward mission leader were just laughing so hard. Elder hattaway is great. he is a football player. he played for his college before he left of the mission. His French is really good for where he is at in his mission. he came in with elder draper my last companion. so he is still pretty knew but he works like an experienced missionary. he is awesome. a great missionary in every sense of the term.

all is well in zion. I am doing just great. I hope all is well at home. I am praying hard for every one of yous! that was a good Canadian phrase. they say yous when there is more than one you. how neat is that?
Godspeed.

January 19, 2015

what a week! it had its ups and downs. and sometimes up out number the downs, but not in Nottingham.

I will tell you all a little bit about my companion ELDER HATTAWAY. He is an allstar. i am serious. he can play every single sport, quite well i might add. He was companions with elder shumway in the mtc. So he has had to deal with two elders from the 32nd ward. How neat is that. I really like him. he is a hard worker. We have already had a great time together. He hails from the land of Georgia. The peach pride state. He is extremely good at puzzles. i have found a new addiction. Puzzles my friends are dangerous. once you start that is all you can think about. Dont worry we were still working hard doing missionary work but once planning was over we were attacking some puzzles. It is great for clearing the mind. I have really enjoyed myself while doing puzzles. Anyways my comp is great and we are having fun

this week was a fun one. we had a couple discouragements but you know those come and they make us stronger. A wise woman once sang, What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. I think she was singing about lifting weights and such, but it relates to the mission as well. Sometimes things come your way and they make you sad. But even when we are sad we can be happy because we know that these things are given to us for our good. We learn and grow and become more like our Father in Heaven. I have learned this time and time again on my mission.

I went on an exchange with a really young missionary this week. It was fun. It made me think of the beginning of my mission and how i felt. I have come a long way! i can speak french now that is kind of cool. I may not know the answer to every question but i do know that God loves His children and that answer is good enough for me.

I received a strange call yesterday. A woman called and asked if she could talk with me for a little while. I had no idea who she was. She asked me some doctrinal questions and i was able to answer them by testifying. That was about the only thing i could do was to testify. She then asked if we could visit her and discuss more about the nature of God. It was really interesting to see that i did not have to have a perfect answer. I have never really been good with words. I try my best but more often than not i look back on what i said and wish i could have changed it. But as i looked back on this particular instance the spirit told me that what i said did not come from me. It came from Heavenly Father and that His answers are perfect for the woman with which i was speaking. That was a really cool experience for me.

I hope you are all doing well. You are all in my prayers every night. It has been just swell to be a missionary. I am so glad i am here. Thank you for your support
Godspeed

January 13, 2015

Hello how are you all
yes i know today is tuesday and pday is usually on monday. but unfortunately we have from time to time something that is called zone training meeting. and when president cant make it to ottawa any other day of the week he chooses monday. so that is why my day of preparation in on tuesday

well i suppose i shall respond to questions before giving an account of my dealings with my fellow men this week.
first answer, i am well thank you for asking. Mother you are very close to the spirit always remember that, i had a couple rough days this week but i felt the prayers. Thank you for all you do, insert smiley face
second I did receive grandmas package and i sent them a thank you email, but i guess they did not receive it. pity. i shall send another

Man i almost died this week, usually i wouldn't tell these kinds of stories to my mother but it was quite humorous therefore i cant help but share. I shall do so by recounting my story of leaving sainte foy

I woke up tuesday the 6th at 5:45 in order to catch the bus which would take me from quebec city to montreal at 6:30. After preparing my self, i said goodbye to my fellow missionary friends and i left the beautiful land of quebec. It was a sad farewell but full of love. I left with one other missionary who was going home. We made it to the bus station after a very long and cold ride. we arrived at the station Berri Uquam. now for all you who know the metros of montreal you would realize that this place is a very busy and stressful station, for it connects 3 different lines, the heart of montreal. I had to drag my luggage through the station and get on a metro to go 3 stops to laurier, drag my luggage up the stairs and across the street to the mission office. then after about a half hour i did the exact same thing, but this time i got on a bus to ottawa. after on the bus i sat and stared out the window. I was pretty sad i wont lie. I loved being in quebec. it was a great 6 months. But when i got off i met my new companion! elder Hattaway. He is great. Seriously one of the funniest guys i have met. We get along just fine. the are is good too. a little bizarre but i am having a good time. my district is a really young one. i am the oldest by over a year, in mission time that is. my comp is actually older than me. you know that is an interesting fact i have never been older than any of my comps.
anyways so i meet him and this other man named steve. he is an investigator of ours. he is really nice and willing to help us out. he gave us a ride back to our place because we have no car, yet. hopefully this week.
So this is the part where i almost die. as much as i love steve he is  a terrible driver. i was trying to get to know him a bit, and maybe this was my fault, but i asked him some questions and then he started to turn around to talk to me while he was driving! the red jeep in front of us got closer and closer. He swerved out of the way just in time, and managed to visit 5 lanes with out touching a single other car. After some profane language, he offered a prayer of gratitude to thank the Lord for getting the two elders home in safety. now that is a man!

we have had a great time here thus far, with many adventures to come. I have found a new love for puzzles. i think i am going to have to get some. We just finished one today. good stuff, great for stress relief.

I love you all very much
Godspeed

January 5, 2015

I am getting transferred! how weird is that. there are still 2 weeks left in the regular transfer but there are some missionaries going home early for school and so there were some things that got switched around and i am going to Gatineau. Which is in Ottawa. so i am going to the opposite side of the mission! how crazy is that? this will most likely be my last area. For i only have 3 transfers to go after this one ends on the 21st.

oh no buddy, i always knew that he was part wolf. What a dog! we should make a movie about him. Man i am kind of pumped that he got a bird. how did we lose so many others? we only have 2 left? i am not sad or anything just curious haha, they were not my favorite creatures on the block. Once mine died i would have no part of them, for if you remember correctly it was the rest of them that teamed up on my fragile hen, she never stood a chance against the raging talons. So maybe i am still a little upset about that whole fiasco.

we had a great new years celebration. we ate at our branch presidents house again, and then at the casanovas house for new years day. they are so kind, in fact the are so kind that brother casanova gave me a vintage 1960 electric guitar! how neat is that. there are some minor repairs that need to be made but that is going to be a fun project when i come home i am super excited to play it. it is packed up in my suitcase just waiting to be fixed.

i am really sad to leave sainte foy. i have loved being here. i think i have grown the most in this area. i have learned a lot. I was able to be the district leader for 3 transfers, and i was able to hear a lot of miracles from all the missionaries in our district. it has been just splendid to work here. I will leave a piece of my heart here in quebec city. but i am sure that gatineau will be great. The Lord has need of me there and so i will go and do the things which He commands. It is crazy how fast time is flying.

unfortunately i am going to have to keep this one short. i have a lot of work to do to prepare to leave on tuesday. I love you all very much and here is a picture of yours truly, Le Roi!

December 29, 2014

such a strange song haha.
but i like the next 2 verses

  1. Ring out the old; ring in the new.
Ring, happy bells, across the snow.
The year is going; let him go.
Ring out the false; ring in the true.
The year is going; let him go.
Ring out the false; ring in the true.
  2. 3. Ring in the valiant men and free,
The larger heart, the kindlier hand.
    Ring out the darkness of the land;
Ring in the Christ that is to be.
    Ring out the darkness of the land;
Ring in the Christ that is to be.

The new year is such a great time to evaluate where we are and change what we need to. I have made the same goals every week for a long time and i haven't really made much progress so this year i have decided to change the ways i set goals. I have learned that goals need to be specific and precise. For example i made a language goal i want to read 2 chapters from the Book of Mormon every day so that i can finish it before i come home. So that is what i am going to do! We have a lot to do before the Christ comes again, we much prepare the world for His coming!

I am glad that you enjoyed the music. It was so fun to make. We had a great time playing in the roads. we had a couple miracles. a lot of people stopped to listen to us and took pictures of us. we even got a new investigator from it!

not to much to report on! because you know pretty much everything since we called Thursday!

i love you all. i hope all is well. at home. i love you very very much

until next week.
Godspeed.

December 22, 2014

Thank you so much family for my christmas package. I couldnt wait to open it so i just did last night, about an hour after i got it. haha. would have been sooner but unfortunately we had a missionary meeting so i couldnt haha. But it was great to open up that box and see a thousands peps, a flying monkey, a classy cardigan, a wicked white shirt, some scrappy socks, GANDALF, oh my gosh i freaked out when i saw that. i brought him everywhere with me today. I am serious i showed all the missionaries in my zone. It was all the rage! Natalie I loved the petit prince note book. there is a sister in my zone from belgium and i always talk to her about le petit prince because that is one of her favorite books so she was super pumped when i showed her the notebook. you would get along with her well natalie. I just loved everything, cant wait to see you all on thursday bright and early at 730 utah time. wont that be special. i know you will all be up anyways, hahah...... or maybe just emily. haha that would be cool i will just talk to her haha.

I have not much to say because i will just tell you how everything is on thursday. life is good. life is real good. I have a lot of great people surrounding me. I have a great family, i have a great companion, a great branch, and a loving Heavenly Father who cares enough to give me all of these things. I have a Savior. I love him, and I am so glad to be His missionary. I am excited for the future because of Him.

I cant wait to see you, I am glad that our family is an eternal one. One day, we will be in the Celestial Kingdom together, maybe i will be married, who knows haha. i am still pretty young though so i think i have a while yet before i have to make that step haha.

it is weird that in 5 months i will be a return missionary. that doesnt seem real. i still feel like a young missionary! it is strange to think that i will be starting my life again, But i feel much more prepared for all that. I still have a while yet. I will treasure the time i have left.

i am super excited to see you in 3 days
Godspeed

December 15, 2014

Nat i totally saw your chirstmas thing at our branch christmas party! how neat is that! our elders quorum president played it at the end of our party. it was just dandy!

i am so so so so so so so so so so so so sos os sosososos sos os so sos so so so so oh so happy to be a missionary. mom i think that was just you trying to tell me in a nice way to write more things in the emails that i send home. haha. What a funny story. I wont lie i have been guilty of that several times during my school years. haha

wow it is weird to see my 2 sisters in the hobby lobby blue. trop bizarre. How did you get my letter on the sabbath day? I hope you liked the painting. I will send you a picture of what the street actually looks like.  it is just so special. speaking of special i will be doing a little skype session with my lovely family on christmas at 9:30 am quebec time. so that must be 7:30 your time. is this too early? we just have a lot of missionaries to use the computer. I will have an hour to talk to you so from 9:30 to 10:30 quebec time. that would be lovely. let me know if that works!

guess what i did my first baptismal interview this week. it was really cool. a team in my district had an investigator, who actually lives in our building, who got baptized this past week! it was really cool. such a great experience. He is physically handicapped and so the ordinance was really hard for him. Very powerful.

Chirstmas is coming and the Goose is getting fat. It is crazy how fast time is flying. I have not got my package yet and i probably wont get it until sunday. but that is ok. had i got it earlier i just would have opened it haha.

we had a sad thing happen to us. we had a super solid potential investigator that we found last week but he told us this week that his wife wont let him visit with us anymore. she wants him to stay catholic. i was so sad for him. he wanted to learn so badly but he loves his wife and doesnt want to fight with her. But i know we planted a good seed. you know I have done that a lot on my mission. I may have not been able to see too too many fruits from my labors but i know that i am still being a successful missionary. It is hard sometimes to hear about all this people in other missions getting baptized by the 100s but the quebecois are just as important to God as those people. I have taken comfort in the fact that i am a seed planter. Abinidi was as important to the story as alma was!

i am so excited to see you next week! i will be emailing on tuesday next week. so dont worry! i will be alive. I love you all
Godspeed!

December 8, 2014

thats right folks staying for another 6 weeks! couldn't be more happy! i am just loving this area and this part of my mission

i agree father the orchestra was incredible. i loved still still still the most.

sorry folks i only have a little bit of time to write because we did a lot of things today and we only have one computer to share among 6 missionaries, and i said i would go last because most of them are young lads and lasses in the missionaries, Nathalie tu comprends:)

this week was awesome. sergio came to church with his entire family! what a miracle he is. so 7 people at church. his kids love us. the youngest kid is hilarious. he looked at us and said, hi its me Michael!

we went caroling this week in vieux quebec. it was great we got a lot of people to smile and we handed out a lot of cards. SHARETHEGIFT get stuff done at home family and then let me know how it goes i cant wait to hear the Christmas stories

i am missing you all very much this week as Christmas is coming. but i know why i am here and i will be home soon.

December 1, 2104

Guess what family! i almost broke my thumb this week! how neat is that. we were doing some service for a family moving logs. and let me describe these logs to you. imagine a log the size of dad, but about 6 times his weight. ok thats we tried to move. haha so it may or may not have landed on my thumb... yeah it hurt pretty bad, i may have said a swear in my head, but i have been speaking quebecois for so long that it was a swear in quebecois. but i repented so dont fret.

So this week on thursday i was grateful for thumbs, and also for splints and tape and bandages and missionaries who know how to wrap hands and stuff, but more than all of that i am grateful for the power of the Priesthood. I asked my comp for a blessing and he gave me a great one. Heavenly Father told me some other things that i needed to hear. So everything is well. good news it is doing better, it doesnt really hurt at all anymore.

it is good to hear that the lights and tree are up, will you send me a picture of all that. i miss seeing those things.
I just loved seeing all the things you are going to do to share the Gift! Man we have some crazy cool stuff for the Christmas Initiative. We are going to be talking to everyone about this new website and the he is the gift video. Big things are coming my friends big big things

thanks for the future package and money on my card. i really appreciate it. Great job running the race lads and lasses. that is pretty neat. I havent ran in a while.

thanksgiving this year we went to a latino family to eat. it was so so so good. oh man. I love latino food. and there was so much of it too. it was great.
on our way home from there house we had to take the ferry. and as we were coming out we heard, "hey elders" so we stopped and talked to this lady. she is a member in hawaii. super cool lady, she loved us haha. she asked if she could give us a christmas gift and gave each one of us 20 dollars. how cool is that. To see a complete stranger and be able to connect immediately with them because of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She was even doing missionary work. She was telling some other lady about the Restoration, then i got to share the 1st vision with her. Great experience.

We had another miracle. We went to visit a less active only to find that he had moved. so we decided to knock some doors. Elder draper had never done it so we decided to give it a go. It was awesome, we got into the 2nd door and taught the restoration. new investigator! sick bird!

sergio is doing well. he is so cool every time we go i feel the spirit. he has been prepared to receive the gospel at this time.

i  love you all. all is well from canada.

November 24, 2014

hi family, mom dad, sisters brothers, dog, uncles aunts, cousins, grandparents, distant relatives that we dont know of that somehow have access to this letter i am about to send home,
how are you?
you know i am just dandy, sorry it is a little late to be emailing. We only have one computer that functions... so i said i will go last because i dont really have too many people to write.
I am doing great. weather is getting colder! i dont really need anything for the moment. though if you were to buy me a shirt could you get a size smaller? yeah thats right i have lost weight! i guess not having a car is a blessing...... haha

Dad you are one inspired man, i will tell you why. I read that very talk this last week and i was so touched by the spirit. I have been studying a lot about the Prophet Joseph Smith. I listened to one of my all-time favorite talks, "Profile of a Prophet" if you havent read it.... (as President Monson would say) READ IT!!!!!!!!!!! lets just say you cannot listen to this talk and not know that Joseph was indeed called of God to be the Prophet of the Restoration. My favorite part of the entire address is the end. Elder Brown says:(and i am paraphrasing here) but undergirding and overarching all the rest I know that Joseph Smith was a Prophet. By the wisperings of the Holy Ghost one can come to that same knowledge.

Dont you just love that? It is the same for me. I have learned so much about him on my mission. But all these things that i have learned can neither give nor take my testimony away. I know that he is a prophet because i have heard the Holy Ghost say to me that he is. I know it and i cannot deny it, and i shall never be able to do so.

this week was great
remember when i told you about Sergio? well he has a date to be baptized!!!!!!!!! wooooohhoooooooo yeah i know how great is that! It was a great lesson. his son even sat in and so next week we are going to commit him too. I am so happy for him i cant wait to teach him next week. thank you for your prayers on his behalf.

Mommy thanks so much for all you do for me. I am very grateful for you. I just felt like i needed to tell you that. i am sorry i dont write too much. I have never really been good and expressing what i feel inside but i want you to know that you are the best and have always been the mother that your children needed. i talk about you often so the lads must think that i am a wus or a mommas boy or somthing like that!

You are all amazing. Happy thanksgiving. May you all remember that the greatest gift we have been given is He who was born in a manger, and He who died on a cross. It is Jesus the Christ, the Son of God. I will always be eternally grateful for Him.

Godspeed my family
all is well in zion

November 17, 2014

My friends,
life is beautiful. especially when you find 3 new investigators in one week. that is what i like to call blessings from the Lord. Fantastic isn't it.

I am doing well
i just have to say thank you so so soso so sos o s much to my sister nat and my brother justin for sending me the best little gifts that i have received in a while. You know how much i love music.
It was so great to read some mumford and sons lyrics. in fact i convinced my 4 man to sing timshel with me. it didn't sound like mumford haha but we tried our best.

It is snowing pretty hard here. we have got a ton of snow everywhere. It is completely white. i love it. for now. haha
i am doing good on advair and other supplies. thank you for everything

I will now tell you about our new investigator. his name is Sergio. he is from mexico. He is so cool. i gave him a call because we got his information from a team in montreal. He said we could come on over. we had such a great lesson with him. i asked if he wanted to be baptized on the first lesson just like a good PMG missionary should and he said yes!! next lesson we are going to give him a date to be baptized. he could be a member by the end of the year! please pray for this guy

we had another great lesson with 2 other new amis. We gave them a book of mormon and they said they are going to read and pray about it. so we are excited for them as well.

we got to go to montreal for a new missionary training for my comp. it was great. i got to see a lot of missionaries i haven't seen in a while. and we even got to have an interview with president. it was so cool. we both wanted to talk to him because we had some concerns so we went into his office and talked for a while. it was great.

he told us both that we are going to be bishops and i laughed and he said thats what i did when my mission pres said the same thing on my mission. haha

all is well i love you all  very very much

Everywhere you go, there's a tree in the grand hotel one in the park aswell, the sturdy kind that doesn't mind the snoWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

wow

so this week was good, i jammed with a black guy. It was really fun, he played the accordion, and i played my mandolin. We had a good jam session together. he is all about playing gospel music, so i said i would love to jam with him. He said ok then he actually came and we played some songs. Unfortunately he is not too too interested in the Church. But it was fun to play some music.

it is 430 right now and completely dark. winter is upon us. it is official there is snow. it melted though. so maybe tomorrow it will stick.

we dont have too too much time left for emails today for we have to make some preparations for this next week.
But let it be known that i am well my companion is great, i am having fun!. we are working hard. get to play some music tonight for family home evening! i love you all! so much. stay tuned for next week

Hey family!

so how are you all doing! i am just great. i am happy and healthy just like always. my advair is doing great thanks for asking. my christmas package is coming up that is exciting! i just have one request, a cardigan, a black one would be great! thanks mommy i think i will be great for this winter my coat is sweet.

we had a great week, i did an exchange with the rimouski team, they are far far away, and guess what! justin got a marble there many moons ago and i visited the same family and i got the marble! only he knows what the marble is and i cant tell any of you what it means but just you know what i mean!

hey mom i ate like 3 vegetables last week! i know that is cool!

we had stake conference this week. it was really good we talked about how to use social media to do missionary work. we are going to try a little bit harder with our facebook account to invite others to come unto Christ. But what is more effective than the missionaries using facebook is the members using facebook! it is so cool seeing the different creative ways that we can share our testimonies on the web. i think i know what family home evening will be about this week, winky face dad!

we have a sister in our district that broke her toe. she was having a rough time so we gave her a blessing and we saw a miracle. before the blessing they said that it was obvious that her toe was broken but after the blessing the next day the doctor said it wasnt, that it never had been broken. It was so cool to see the priesthood of Jesus Christ working with her faith and ours to heal her foot. I have a testimony of God`s love for his children

I know that Jesus is the Christ.. I know it and no one can make me think any other way. I know why i am a missionary. Sometimes it is harder to remember, when rough times come or when you lose the desire, but something always comes back into my mind, It is a quote from Preach My Gospel, As your understanding of the Atonement grows your desire to share the Gospel will increase. I have seen that a lot on my mission

I love you all
I love Jesus Christ

October 27, 2014

hey y'all

so nat this is weird you are dating people. i am not sure how i feel about my sisters dating people. you're not ready emily and nat, wait about 7ish months and maybe you can be ready...

we had a really cool week, so you may be wondering why the subject of this letter is how i could have protection, well let me tell you a story

so we sent a message to our main man Emmanuel, he is a black guy from Martinique, he asked us if we wanted to come to a gospel meeting with his friends at his house. we said of course! and so we showed up and 6 black guys were just chillin in front of us. So i started joking with them and challenged them to some fooseball because we have gotten pretty good at baby foot, but then they all starting talking to us about the Church and what we believe. we were able to teach a little bit of the first lesson. so that was cool. they all love us now and if we were in a fight they would come and have our backs for sure. though i dont think that we will be fighting anyone soon, but one never knows so i am glad those guys are on our side

next cool story, we called up a potential and set up a rendez-vous to talk about music, let me explain. when i called him he asked if i play music, so i said of course i do i love to play, and then he asked if we could help him with some gospel songs that he is working on, so we invited him to the institute and we talked about the Gospel, it was really cool. We are going with a different approach this time but it is really fun.

I am doing well family, my health is good, i am scared for winter, quebec winters are colder than montreal winters. so i will let you know if i need anything. I am healthy wealthy and wise smiley face! well folks that is all for me this week,

starting a new transfer this week, dont worry i am staying in ste foy for another 6 weeks. I love it here.

you rock

How y'all doing on this brisk autumn day
is it brisk in dear old american fork, because it is certainly brisk here
I just want you all to know that i love you very much and i thank you for your prayers. Please let the ward know that i love them too. I have been thinking about all the things that i have learned from my parents and the man that i have become because of them. I haven't totally messed up so you should be proud haha, i made it out here so that is something special. We are so blessed to have a family where we are all so active and strong in the church. this past week a lot of people have talked to me about justin. I always say, let me tell you about my hero. for example the belanger family who saw my man main justin once a week in ste foy always says, elder cameron t'es comme ton frere mais moins sérieux, haha elder cameron you are like you brother but less serious. hey i will take the compliment!

this week was great we had some sweet lessons, we even found a new investigator! bernadetter from the congo! she is super nice, she is actually a former investigator and so we picked her up again to see if she is ready this time around to accept the covenant of baptism.

I had an exchange with my zone leader. it was super fun. i love him he is hilarious we had a good time. We are just doing work up here in quebec city

we have been able to work with some new less actives too which is awesome. there are so many less actives in quebec so we are trying to find all those who are willing to come back but just need a little time. I love working with less actives. i love to try and bring hope back into their lives. I love when you can feel the Holy Ghost working through to saying something that they needed to hear. It is awesome! I love being a missionary

la vie est belle mes amis. life is beautiful

so when was the last time that you shared the gospel with a friend. i know it is harder at home because most of our friends are members but we know people! there are always people who have been prepared to receive us!
i love you all
i am well i love the mission and my companion i am healthy and trying to be wise haha not very wealthy though

salut mes amis, comment ca va?
I GOT THE PACKAGE and lets just say, I experienced heaven while eating symphony bars on a ferry this week. yeah how cool is that we took a ferry. that is pretty neat. actually the reason we had to take the ferry is because our branch president invited us to eat canadian thanksgiving dinner at his house. the problem is that he lives on the south shore and the bridge is pretty far away so we agreed to take to ferry which is closer to his house. Then he picked us up from where the ferry dropped us off. That was special.

this week we did a ton of service. seriously it was crazy. so this family asked us to come and help rake the leaves. I am down with raking leaves but then as we got there they said there are a few things we have to take up from the basement. so that was fine you know we are strong young pups. we got most everything but then there was a huge piece of plywood and on the other side was tile, for a bathroom i think. this thing must have weighed like 240 lbs. there was no way that elder draper and i could get this thing by ourselves so the member handed us a sledge hammer and said go to work. So i grabbed that sucker and said, MERICA and hit that thing until all the tile was in tiny pieces on the ground. It was really fun but i was dead after that, and that was all before even racking one leaf. So then we spent a good 3 hours getting all the leaves from off of the ground. Boy did it take a while, my back was on fire, still kind of is, i have not fully recovered from the pain of service. But i felt good inside... kind of haha. i actually was having a small asthma attack while trying to be a hero and smash the tile board, I felt like an old man. But dont fret because being the eagle scout that i am i had my fast acting inhailer strapped to my belt. ok maybe it was not on my belt but it was close. So i am fine, and alive and sore.

we had some great lessons this week. we taught a family from nepal. it is pretty tough because they dont speak french or english too well so we are trying our best. We also got to see clarence our investigator. he is doing well. we had a killer lesson with him. we told him strait up that he has to pray and ask God. and he came to church!! that was great to see.

we had a fun week. thank you so much for the package it made my week. thank you for the letters. Dad thank you for your 3x5 card, you said something i really needed to hear. mother you always make me smile with your crafty notes. and emily my banjo card is taped to the wall. thank you so so much

I love you all!

I loved that so much. cant believe that nat is home. It was so strange to see pics of you all. We had a great week. unfortunately i have to make this email short because we have a lot of activities we have to do today because we had to change our pday. I will tell you one story, so clarence our 76 year old black investigator came to the priesthood session. we were so pumped, but as we walked out to greet him he strolls up with a lady on his arm looking like a womanizer haha and he says gentlemen! HE BROUGHT A DATE TO THE PRIESTHOOD SESSION haha that is the coolest thing that has happened this week. if only he knew what it was before hand it was so funny! man i love you all i hope you are not disappointed with my short email but justin and nat and jess and ammo and shannon understand..... haha elder cam
