Hello family

this week was a strange week. it had its ups and it had its downs. sometimes the ups  out number the downs. but not this week. well actually we just have like one or two downs. i am sure i could find way more ups then downs. but i just wanted to continue the song. a canadian prize for whoever can tell me where that song is from. i am glad to hear that grandpa is doing better. i hope everything goes well with him.

ok here we go. 

this is an up

i went on a split with elder johnson. he is affectionately called baby face johnson. look there is a picture to prove that it is not just a clever name

he is a great zone leader who is no longer my zone leader. he got transferred. which reminds me. 

i am going into my 8th transfer which happens to be the halfway mark at the end of the transfer. and i am going to .......... stay in chomedey for a 5th transfer and i am going to kill elder duran. not literally, this is his last transfer so i am his last comp. for the longest duration of anyone of his comps. 

ok so back to the split. it was fun we did a lot of things. for example we went to the old folks home to do some service. this time was pretty lame because we didn't play bingo or anything. the lady just told us to mingle with the old people. so i sat down next to this old lady who started to tell me about Gods country, (I guess Gods country is in nova scotia. who knew?) and then she asked if i was in the service. it was a tuesday so i decided to have a little fun. i said, "yeah i am in the service." then she asked which branch. I said the navy. then she told me that her boy was in the navy. he must have been about my same age right? wrong. i asked when he was born. 1955. just a little older then me. haha 

then i went to talk to another lady before i dug myself into a hole haha. so i went to talk to a lady from Great Britain. London to be precise.  she was funny. she told me, "the big boss came and asked me if i was doing ok and i said no and he asked why, then i told him there is nothing interesting to do. he told me talk to someone interesting. i said how can i talk to anyone interesting if they dont even know what planet they are on." 

then i started laughing haha. then elder johnson looked to see if i was ok then the lady said, "dont worry i am not tickling him" 

haha she was hilarious. i talked to her for a good 45 minutes.

now for a bad. 

our brazilians are moving to toronto..... good for toronto, bad for us. they will be baptized one day. just not in the province of quebec.

 this is them. we bought brazil shirts and had them sign the sleeve so we could always remember them when brazil plays. 

we dont really have anyone else who is progressing. 

but we did get a new investigator this week. a less actives girl friend has been coming to church so we are starting to teach her. they have to get married first then we can baptize her. so it may not happen soon but she is a great lady. 

so while in sacrament meeting i was reading "with humble heart" #179 in the hymnal. i love the last verse a lot. 

As I walk daily here on earth,

Give me thy Spirit as I seek

A change of heart, another birth,

And grow, dear Lord, to be like thee.

i love this a lot. we are all here to grow to become like our Heavenly Father. so this week i am going to pray for the spirit for a change of heart to learn how to change myself to become like my Savior.
