Well bonjour tout le monde!
Wow this week was so
great! It is absolutely beautiful. It has been in the high 60's and 70's
this week and I have been in HEAVEN. The tights came off and the coat
was left behind and we have just been "sestatic". That one was for all
you fans out there.
This week was so fun. We went to the Rousseaux's again.
Each week we go and spend a day in their town. They pick us up at the
gare and pray for us, then we go out and find in their area for a couple
of hours. Then we eat with them and tell them about our day. It's so
much fun and has been the coolest experience! Their little boy Charlie
is our new best friend. He told us that he will protect us from all the
pirates and stuff. We don't have to worry. We taught him a little lesson
at his house and made a paper boat then did the classic mama's trick by
cutting off the sides and having it turn into a tshirt! (thanks mom) We
taught how Jesus called his Apostles when they were fishing and how
they put up their nets to be missionaries. So when we cut up the boat it
was a white shirt and tie with his little name on the tag. It was
pretty cute. When his dad came home he asked him what he'd learned
about. He replied, "fishing". Then they asked fishing what? and he said
"people!". It was the cutest thing ever. Yesterday at church he sat
behind us and had his arms around the both of us behind us while we
sang. We have our little protector. He's going to serve in Utah in about
14 years. So get ready for Charlie! This is a picture of us making a
cake together!
This week we also started teaching a 9 year old girl
named Amanda! She hasn't been baptized and has a harder homelife. She's
come to church ever since she was little but really doesn't know a lot.
We asked her who the Savior was and she really didn't know. It was a
shock for us, but we have gone to work with tons of object lessons and
stories and stuff and we are getting her ready for baptism! We are
really excited. And this week she read teh book of mormon with her
family and prayed even! We are seeing such progession with her and we're
really excited.
My studies were incredible this week. I made a goal to
learn something new each day! And through the Holy Ghost, I was able to.
I studied virtue from PMG in the Christ-like Attributes. I read
multiple talks from Sister Dalton that she's given over the past 10
years and I was amazed and filled with the Spirit at how much I've been
affected by her "call to virtue". I will never forget listening her to
her talks as a young woman and having that same drive and desire to
STAND and to make virtue a priority in my life. I remember going to
girl's camp and planning our virtue hike and standing on top of a
mountain peak declaring to the world that I would STAND for virtue. And
now, for the first time I have seen an eternal view of why I chose to
stand and do it. Never before in my life have I been so surrounded by
evil and filth and immorality. It has opened my eyes to just how real
the advesary is. But this is why a call to return to virtue is so
important! It was already in us before we ever came. One of my favorite
quotes from Sister Dalton is, "When we are worthy, we can not only enter
the temple, the temple can enter us. The Lord's promises of salvation
and happiness become ours and our earthly mission becomes His;"
Isn't that incredible?? It blew me away! I realized why
virtue was so important! It was preparing us to enter the temple and to
go on our missions and to get married! I found a verse in Revelation
that says, "They shall walk with me in white for they are worthy"
Revelation 3:4
Pretty incredible right? so then the scriptures led me to D&C 101:3939 When men are called unto mine aeverlasting gospel, and covenant with an everlasting covenant, they are accounted as the bsalt of the earth and the savor of men;
When we are married, we don't just get sealed for eternity. When we are married, we accept another call! Another mission call. A call to serve the rest of our lives and waste away our lives in His service. We are called to be the "savor of men". Isn't that incredible?? And that, is why virtue is so important! Because it is preparing us all to be "savor of men". Mom it reminded me of your quote you sent me about being "Saviors on mount zion" How cool is that!? I will never look at marriage the same again. We learned a ton about it as we've been teaching out amis about the temple. Ah it's so incredible. I truly believe that because I haven't had a temple on my mission, God has replaced it with temple sacred moments in my little studies in the morning and throughout the day. I have learned more about my covenants than ever! And I am pumped beyond belief to return to the temple in 7 months.
I'm really grateful for Sister Dalton and her words, also for my virtueous sisters, but especially you mom. For helping me see the importance of living a virtuous life. You prepared me to go to the temple and be out here! And now it's preparing me for even more.
Well I sure do love you all. Thank you so much for the package! I loved it so much and died over the stories and letters. I read them over and over. I love you all and I am praying for you with all of my heart. I am so grateful for your love and support.
Love,
Your nat girl
