Hey everyone!
Can't believe another
week has come and gone. What a crazy one it was. My heart is full and I
touched Heaven a lot this week. I know that God lives and this gospel
is real.
Ok so first, I should catch you up on our ami Marie-Line. What
a beautiful beautiful woman. We have been teaching her since I got here
and she is the most golden person I've met on my mission. this week we
went to her home and she told us she wanted to share her studies with
us. She had come across a few verses in the BOM on her own and linked
them with a hymn she'd fumbled across, oh and also looked up the MOTAB
version of it on
lds.org so
she could learn how to sing it. This woman is someone special. And I
can feel it everytime i'm with her. She came to church yesterday and was
just glowing. She loves this gospel and has decided that she wants to
get baptized. She understands the importance of this decision and wants
to be ready and spiritual prepared to make that commitment. She is a
miracle.
Wednesday
I accomplished one of my miracles of my mission. I got to go on an
exchange with one of my best friends...SOEUR HILTON! We were in the MTC
together and one of my dreams was to serve with her. We never got to
serve a transfer together, so God gave us 24 hours. And they were
absoultely beautiful. We found 2 new amis, taught lessons on the street,
contacted a referral from the church, and loved every second of it! We
found girls our age and prayed with them telling them God loved them. We
had incredible studies talking about the 4th missionary and giving our
wills to God. It was beautiful and incredible. I love Soeur Lorraine
Hilton. She is a beautiful person.
Yesterday,
Sunday, was the best
Sunday
of my mission and probably my life. I will never forget it. Sacrament
meeting was testimony meeting. It was my dream testimony meeting that
I've always dreamed of ever since I was a kid. A classy African woman
got up with a translator and started speaking in english. She is from
London and came for a wedding. She got up and testified of the beautiful
feelings she felt in her heart while staying in Torcy that the church
is true everywhere we go. Then, a beautiful woman got up from Peru. She
has become one of my bosom friends, and we can't even say hello to each
other. She speaks spanish. I speak english and french. But we laugh and
communicate through our eyes and smiles. We have become great friends
because I know we were dear friends once before and I am commited to
learn spanish for her! I have started from the basics, but I'm commited
to learn and talk with her! She testified while her husband, a recent
convert, translated, that God lives. He lives in all of us and
throughout all the world. When she walked back to her seat, she put her
hand on my shoulder and winked, and she didn't even have to say a word.
Then we had a chinese woman get up and spoke chinese. The Chinese elders
had their ami there and she was amazed! Then a pourtugese man and voilĂ
les americannes. Another woman from London bore her testimony while had
a translator, and her best friend spoke for her. It was incredible.
I have never felt so much combined LOVE in a room before. It was
absolutely breath taking. Our ami marie-line said she thought she was
going to burst with joy. Then a man from London got up. He said he
didn't want a translator. In his accent he said that, "He didn't need
one. Because Although there is a barrier from our languages, there is no
barrier of the Spirit. We can all feel what we're saying, because It's
God's language. His language is LOVE. It is a privilidge to be a Mormon.
And to have a family wherever you go in the world."
After sacrament meeting our cute friend Delphine got set apart
to go on her mission. Everyone stayed to support her. She is a recent
convert and has no support from her family. She bore her testimony and
said that this ward was her family. Our ami Marie-Line stayed and she
saw that we were crying. It was a very full circle moment. Because we
knew that Delphine had absolutely no idea what she was getting herself
into. She had no idea the amount of joy and love she was about to be a
part of. Marie-Line turned to us and said, "I get it now mes soeurs". oh
the joy.
I know and testify that God's language is LOVE. We communicate
as His children best when we communicate feelings of love to others. It
speaks so much louder than words. One of my dear friends shared a quote
with me that changed my life: "If we can be interested in others even
if they are not interested in us, we will find ourselves under a freer
sky and in a street full of splendid strangers" GK Chesterson. Oh how
true this is.
"We are the world. We are the children. We are the hope
that makes a brighter day so let's start living. " A little Michael
Jackson throwndown. I know that we can make a difference. We NEED to
make a difference. The time has come to not just believe the gospel, but
to live it. To SHARE it and to embrace it. to be PROUD to be a disciple
of Jesus Christ and let everyone know it through God's language. Love.
It all starts with love. I love that. The more you love, the larger
your family becomes. Then you realize that they are already your family
and you are just strengthening ancient bonds. That is eternal. And that
is beautiful. And then, our skys are freer and our streets are full of
splendid familiar faces--not strangers.
I love you all so much! And i'm praying for you. I hope
you know how much of an affect you make on me and my life. I am so
grateful for you and all you do for me.
Love,
Soeur Cameron
