It was so great hearing from everyone. Can't believe that school is starting so soon! Time is just a flying. Speaking of time flying....this week was insane and flew just as fast! Let me walk you through some stuff I did:
So we travelled across France this week. Soeur Grewar had to do legality so we took a 3 hour train ride there and stayed with the sisters! It was a holiday so there were people dressed up in old traditional costume and there were bagpipes and celebrations! it was very french and very fun to see. Then the next day we went to Tours and were able to see Soleya's baptism. What a tender mercy! Soeur Kehli even came to the gare to pick us up. She's absolutely incredible and it was a tender mercy to watch her get baptized and to say goodbye.
It was so nice to get back into Melun! I know that its defintely the are I'm supposed to be in. It is BEAUTIFUL! We visited a lot of less actives and did drop bys and invited people to church. Its been so great to get to know the ward members. I took your advice Jess and I got my own copy of the ward list and am trying to memorize them all as we visit them! its helped so much.
We did a lot of porting this week too. We love porting Loge don't we...haha. We ported a whole complex the other night and had a lot of fun. There was a big soccer match on that night so you can guess how successful it went. I was just praying that someone would let us in so I could watch it...haha kidding kidding. But its actually really cool because here in France, the older people are pretty closed minded and not very open, but the young people are the opposite. Any time we go and port or contact the younger generation they listen and talk to us. It gets me really excited for the rising generation here in France. They are the future leaders!
This week we've talked with a lot of people from all over the world. Most people think I'm either islamic, italian, or spanish all because of something about my eyes?? kinda random! but hey mom maybe that gives us a better idea right? haha i love meeting people from all around the world! This week we were contacted by a Moraccan man who was a professional soccer player for France. He was a manager for them after he played too and he's been all around the world. He was so kind and we talked about how the world needs religion. He commended us for wanting to serve missions and told us that we were unified because of God. It was a nice little conversation. He knew John Stocktan and Karl Malone so we got talking about the dream team and all that fun stuff; It was a blast!
Last night we had a rendez-vous with a recent convert. She invited us over there to meet with her and her mom. They both got baptized on the same day and have been members for about a year. We went over and looked in and there was a room full of people! They had invited all there friends and told us to teach them. hahaha we were so surprised! It was a really cool experience and we had a fun time teaching them. It was a little overwhelming on the spot! They are so fun and both want to serve missions. Its cool to see the gospel affect peoples lives!
Well today for pday we spent the day in the Louvre!!! It was absolutely incredible and I loved every minute of it. We only went in one wing today and plan on going back to see it all. It was humbling to walk next to masterpieces and feel of their stories. We saw the Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo also. It was so cool! I love France and its been so fun serving in Paris. The history here is incredible!
Well things here are going so great! I'm so happy. Soeur Grewar is incredible and we've become great great friends. I love her! I love missionary work and I am so happy here. There is nothing better than running around for the Lord! I am learning so much about myself and about the Lord and His work. I know it's true!
I love you all so much and i hope you have an incredible week! Good luck with school starting. Em good luck! you will LOVE IT! Don't be scared. Its going to be the time of your life and i'll be praying for you lots!
Love you all!!!
Soeur Cameron
