salut ma famille! comment ca va?
well another week has past. only one more pday until transfer 3. wow time flies. Emily how is highschool? it sounds like you are having just the best time of your life!! i am so happy for you. just remember stay away from boys. at all times. until after you are home from your mission if you decide to serve or until you are done with your college. you can choose... ha but really how is that high school doing since i left it? you have to check just above the library door. i left a secret sign there. i wonder if it is still there. haha also emily i have my spies at the school! i have my eyes on you to make sure you aren't getting into trouble! you think i am joking but i am not.
mother how are the little ones? i miss those stories ha. they make me laugh so hard. jess's story about the boy who couldn't stand it any longer made me laugh. the poor little guy. also emily is already starting to change. stop it. not much change in the trees yet but it's a comin!
dad how is the harvest? good year? i have a good story about farm land which i will tell later in this email. lets just say you would love to live here. not in mont saint hilaire you would probably hate it. but in a place called sorel. that is where you would want to live.
alright lets get down to business.... to defeat the huns! ya!
the week went a little something like this.
so we had an investigator! for like 3 days haha. we found him knocking. super nice guy named dennis. he grew up on a farm way up north and was raised by his older siblings because his parents died. but he told us a lot of great stories. anyways he fed us lunch. we ate blueberries that he picked from the north. crazy i know! they were delicious. i was singing berries and cream in my head when i ate the real berries and cream. i have a pictures so just you wait.
I went on another split this week. Elder Losee. haha he is a transfer younger than i am. so i was senior for a day! i got to practice my french haha. and guess what i did! i gave my first anointing. my first one was done in french. how neat is that! it was soeur Petit who is old and hurt her back so we went and gave her a blessing. frere hebert gave the blessing and i anointed. it was pretty neat.
after that we went out and knocked. knocking with elder losee was interesting. haha he is funny.
we had a zone conference this week. it was really good. we are changing the way we do missionary work here. we are going to work a lot more with less actives and stuff. it is going to be awesome. president patrick doesn't want us knocking as much anymore. before it was like a balance now it is all less active work and finding people through them. so that was really good. we talked about shepherding the lost back into the fold. i loved that a lot. As missionaries we come and go. 2 years is not a long time. and 6 weeks is not long at all. so we come and go very often. so it is up to the members to do missionary work too. as missionaries we can only do so much. but when we have members working with us the retention rates are so much higher. and the conversion is faster. so family i encourage you to do missionary work. i know it is hard but the reward is great. there is a scripture i cant remember where it is but it says, i didn't say it would be easy i just said it would be worth it.... hahahahahahahahahaha well anyways do it
so we went out to a place called sorel saturday. dad listen up this is where it gets good. its about an hour drive to get there. we passed some of the most beautiful country i have ever seen. farm land as far as the eye could see. and we had to take a ferry to get there. the bridge was far away. i hope thats not apostate now that i think about it. we were on a boat. oops. haha
well anyways we were doing a whole lot of less active work up there. it was awesome we got a lot of information. like hey this less active moved or even this one is dead. yeah really there was one who was dead. it is sad the ward didn't know that. so do less active work!!
but we found one less active (the last one we visited ha , i know right, always the last one) and she was awesome. her name is joyce hocker. she hasn't been to churhc in like 50 years or something like that. so she is pretty much a non member. but it was awesome talking to her. she is very much one with nature. we are going to go back and do some service for her. maybe we will get her back to church. she has a dog who jumped on my the entire time we where there. he was huge. just a pup too! but i didn't show my fear. i was strong!
well my family i love you and have a nice week. peace out
elder cameron
